Classic creamy hummus is a great snack or addition to your favorite meal!
Add parsley to the mixing bowl and chop for 6 seconds / speed 8. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside. Rinse the mixing bowl.
Use the simmering basket to drain chickpeas and add to the mixing bowl with baking soda and water.
Remove the measuring cup and cook chickpeas for 25 minutes / 110°C (230°F) / speed 1 / reverse.
Drain chickpeas through the simmering basket and allow to cool slightly.
Zest lemon into mixing bowl, then cut in half and squeeze juice into the mixing bowl through fine mesh sieve. Peel garlic and add to the mixing bowl. Add tahini to the mixing bowl.
Blend ingredients for 1 minute / speed 8. Scrape down sides of the mixing bowl with the spatula.
Add cooled chickpeas, salt and olive oil to the mixing bowl. Blend hummus for 2 minutes / speed 6.
Tips & Tricks
Garnish with olive oil, parsley, salt and pepper.
To change up the flavor, add different spices, such as cumin or chili powder.
Use hummus as a base for cooked vegetables or spread on a sandwich for a hearty filling.
